Which one is in your kitchen

Monogram reorganised around two looks in 2020. Anything older predates the split, which matters less for style than for what parts still exist.

Statement Collection

Edge-to-edge handles, polished stainless, substantial knobs and brass accents. The bolder of the two looks, introduced in 2020.

Minimalist Collection

Flush inset, handleless fronts, expansive glass and precisely engineered metal. The contemporary look, introduced alongside Statement.

Pre-2020 Monogram

Everything before the collections existed. Still widely installed across Coral Gables and Pinecrest, and still serviceable — parts availability is what we check first.

Advantium

The speed oven that replaces a microwave and cooks by several methods at once. Serviced differently from a conventional wall oven, and often the appliance people forget is Monogram.

The part that matters

Twenty-five years in one brand name

No other brand we service spans this much time in Miami kitchens, and that is the whole diagnostic problem.

The badge is the same. The machine behind it is not.

Monogram has been specified into South Florida houses since the late eighties. A call about a Monogram refrigerator can mean a current panel-ready column with a touch display, or a built-in from the nineties with a mechanical control and a compressor that has outlived two kitchens around it.

Both are worth repairing and both are ours. But the control architecture, the failure points and above all the parts availability diverge sharply across that span. So the first question is never what is wrong — it is the model and serial, which tell us whether the part exists on a shelf in Florida, exists as a superseded equivalent, or does not exist at all. On an older unit we would rather establish that before you take a day off work.

Model and serial first

They decide whether this is a same-week repair or a parts hunt. We check before the visit is booked, not after.

Superseded is not discontinued

Many older parts have a current equivalent that fits with a small adaptation. That is normal work, not a bodge.

When we say replace

If the part genuinely no longer exists, we tell you and charge for the diagnostic only. That happens, and it is better said early.

Inside the circuit

Sealed system work on the refrigeration side is EPA 608 only — federal law, not preference.

Common faults

What it usually turns out to be

Tell us which line matches and the truck leaves stocked for it.

What you see What it usually is

Not cooling, freezer side still cold

Evaporator fan or the defrost circuit

Runs constantly and never cycles off

Condenser packed with dust, or a loss of charge

Frost building at the back of the compartment

Defrost heater or thermostat

Water pooling under a drawer

Blocked defrost drain

Ice maker empty or producing hollow cubes

Water inlet valve, fill tube or the module

This is what we usually find, not a diagnosis. The point is to tell you early whether you are looking at a part or at the sealed system, because those are two different conversations about cost.

If you can smell gas near a Monogram range or cooktop, call your gas utility first and leave the appliance alone. That call comes before ours, every time.

Tell us what it is doing and we will tell you what it usually means.

Parts and timing

What the wait actually depends on

GE runs the largest parts network of any manufacturer on this site. For current units that is a real advantage; for old ones it is the thing we check first.

Wear items

Igniters, gaskets, thermistors, spray arms, fill tubes. Usually held or available the same or next day.

Boards and modules

Control boards, latch motors, ice maker modules, Advantium lamps. Ordered against the serial. A few days is typical.

Sealed system components

Compressors, evaporators, driers. Longest of the three, and the visit itself is longer.

Older units

Availability is checked before we book you in. If a part is superseded we say what the equivalent is; if it is gone, we say that too rather than open the appliance first.

Questions

Asked about Monogram

The rest of our answers are on the home page. These are the ones specific to this brand.

Are you an authorized Monogram service center?

No. We are independent, with no affiliation to or authorization from GE Appliances. If your appliance is still inside its factory warranty, call the manufacturer — an independent repair can end that cover. Once the warranty is out, an independent shop is usually faster and costs less.

My Monogram is from the late nineties. Can you still get parts?

Often yes, and where the original is gone there is frequently a superseded equivalent that fits. We check availability against your model and serial before booking the visit, so you are not paying a diagnostic to be told the part does not exist.

What is the difference between Statement and Minimalist?

Look, mostly. Statement has edge-to-edge handles, polished stainless and brass accents; Minimalist is flush inset and handleless with more glass. Both arrived in 2020. Underneath, appliances across the two collections often share the same platform.

The Advantium heats but nothing browns. What is that?

Usually the halogen lamps or the control that drives them. An Advantium browns with light rather than with a conventional element, so when that side fails the oven still gets hot and the food still comes out pale.

Will you have to take off my custom cabinet panel?

On a panel-ready column or dishwasher, often yes. The floor and adjacent cabinetry are covered first, and the panel goes back to its original alignment and reveal.
